Many years ago, long before I knew that I would be performing as a
Joe Cocker Tribute Act, http://www.cockertribute.com I was waiting in a KTXQ radio station news room, where I was going to be interviewed about an upcoming show. On a table next to me were a couple of piles of new hard bound books. One of the books was titled Nashville Music City U.S.A. By, John Lomax III.
I picked it up and said to the interviewer, Long Jim White, “What is this book doing in a Rock and Roll Station?” Jim said, “I interview authors from time to time and they send me copies of their books in advance for me to preview”. That book has articles and pictures of artists that have recorded in Nashville and many are not country artists. I thumbed through the book and on page 166 of the book, was a photo taken of Joe Cocker, with the Crusaders in 1982 and again he was wearing one of MY shirts!
